Prepare For The Game

Once you've secured your position, a Players Pack will be posted to you, covering all aspects of the Football Aid Event, ensuring you are fully prepared for your big day.

Also, we'll e-mail you in the run up to the event to keep you informed of everything you need to know as your dream day approaches. This information is sent to the e-mail address you register with so please remember to update any changes in your User Account section when logged in.

We've included a selection below of some of the important information you may wish to know in the build up to the game:

PLAYING KIT - It is Football Aid's intention to provide you with a personalised official Team strip for the match day and in the vast majority of situations we are able to do so. However, if due to unforeseen circumstances, official strips are unavailable, Football Aid reserves the right to supply an alternative kit of its choosing. To ensure our ability to secure the large quantities of strips required for all our match days, we bulk order strips well in advance from the suppliers. We have to do this well before the identity of our players is known; therefore we order a single size only that will be suitable for the majority of our players, this size is Extra Large. Please Note: we are unable to exchange these pre-ordered strips for alternative sizes.

SPECTATORS - While we can't organise a 40,000-strong Home crowd chanting your name, you can have a select group of your friends and family cheering you on from the stands. Guest tickets are available to buy for a £5.00 donation per ticket and can be obtained by filling in the Ticket Order Form enclosed in your Players Pack (we strongly recommend that tickets are ordered at least 2 weeks in advance of the match to guarantee you receive them on time). Please Note: The number of tickets available to each player is displayed on your specific Event page and the participating Club ultimately decides the final total. Numbers are limited, mainly due to the capacity of the hospitality areas used on the day and we ask you not to contact the club with any requests for extra tickets, all questions on this matter should be directed to Football Aid only. Details on how to get in touch with us can be found in our Contact Us section.

CAPTAIN'S ARM BAND - You can secure the chance to skipper your team as we hold a Blind Bid Auction for the Captain's Arm Band (Home and Away teams) in each of our games, with the highest bidder winning the right to lead his team out onto the hallowed turf and the right to give his team mates stick throughout the whole match... Full details on the bidding process will be e-mailed to participants a few weeks before their Match.

MASCOTS - Football Aid gives you the chance to nominate members of your family or that special someone to be your team's chosen mascot for the day. The lucky winners (one Mascot each for the Home and Away teams) are drawn out of a hat and will share a part of your big day as you run out onto your Field of Dreams. Full details on the nomination process will be e-mailed to participants a few weeks before their Match.

MAN OF THE MATCH - No football game would be complete without a Man of the Match award. The awards are made at our post-match presentation (attended by all players and their guests) and a Man of the Match for both teams is presented with a specially engraved Trophy as well as a match-ball, signed by the celebrity Managers and Playing Legends who use their expert knowledge to decide the winners.

MATCH FITNESS - We always like to say that Football Aid Matches are open to players of all ages (over 18), all levels of footballing ability and all levels of fitness. All we ask is that you are sufficiently fit enough to play and enjoy the time you pay for. To help you prepare for the match have created the Football Aid Training Guide (link opens as a PDF file) which has been designed by a Premier League Qualified Physio and provides our players with a host of hints and tips on how to maximise their fitness for the match.

INSURANCE AND INJURY - Whilst first aid professionals will be in attendance at all Football Aid matches, under our terms and conditions no liability falls to Football Aid or the Club in the event of personal injury to guests and players. Therefore you are advised to consider making personal arrangements for insurance cover. We have an affiliate arrangement with SportsCover Direct Insurance, a leading sports, leisure and travel insurance firm, who offer appropriate one-day cover. Each policy taken out delivers a small financial benefit to Football Aid, please click the logo below for more information -
